Ok guys, I’m so terribly late to the game on the Week 3 progress update of our Charming Floral Nursery project we’re sharing as part of The One Room Challenge. I actually should be sharing Week 4 progress but slowly catching up over here…The last couple of weeks have flown by as we had installs and photoshoots for three separate design projects! I’m just now coming up for air (in the best way possible)!
So here’s where we were at for Week 3 (and back when I started the draft of this post which I should have shared by last Sunday but you know, LIFE.)… During my check-ins at the site that week, we went over layout and started placing some of the major design pieces, including a plush charcoal gray area rug from Loloi that adds a beautiful transitional vibe to the nursery. Thursday of that week so happened to be the most beautiful day we had seen in Portland yet this spring and I spent the morning applying these UrbanWalls decals to add a statement to the focal wall behind the crib with a wallpaper-type wall treatment and loved every single minute of it. Seriously, the feels were running so high that morning!
BTW, I saved some fun updates on the wall application process in an “In Process” Highlight on the HRDC Instragram page and everyone seems to be just as enamored with the flower wall treatment as we are!
The decals arrived in two long sheets, so I started by cutting each flower out and then spacing the largest ones on the wall with blue painters tape. Once the spacing looked good, I began filling in the gaps with the smaller decals.
The first decal went on super smooth and it was so utterly pretty all on its own, my heart started racing thinking about how beautiful the whole wall would look in the end.
I continued to tackle the decals one by one, taking a big step back from the wall every few applications to make sure the spacing was filling in proportionately. As it really started coming together, I got more and more excited and it really started to click that my friends would soon be making endless new memories in the space together and there were more than a few times I got super choked up and had to pull myself together to get the work done.
By the end, I was feeling a deep case of baby fever... I’m desperate to hold that sweet baby soon and squelch all those baby fever urges because there’s certainly no more chances for additional kiddos in the Anderson household.
I could not be happier with the final result!!! LOVE.
Wrapping up Week 3 with a little before + after candy for the eyes….ahhhhhhhh. Could this room be anymore perfect? I want it for myself!
